KIRISHIMA BEERは、霧島連峰の麓、自然と食資源に恵まれた農業や農産加工業が盛んな町　都城市にあります。かつては鹿児島藩領であったため、今でも薩摩の文化を色 濃く残しています。
あの「黒霧島」で知られる焼酎メーカー・霧島酒造が、オリジナルのビールを自社で製造・販売している。それが「霧島ビール」です。創業90年来の伝統と技術を身に着けた焼酎造りの職人がイギリスへと渡り、一からビールの醸造法を習得したという、こだわりの地ビールです。
英国王道のエール・タイプのビールをベースに、本場イギリスで修行した専属スタッフが、霧島初の「ビール職人」として、都城の味に仕上げました。
霧島酒造の本格焼酎の品質を支えている天然地下水「霧島裂罅水（きりしまれっかすい）」のやわらかく、すっきりとした特徴を活かした、きれいな味わいのビール造りをされています。
ラベルデザインは、霧島酒造のシンボルである霧島山と、霧島裂罅水をはじめとする霧島連山がもたらす自然の恵みを表現しているそうです。

Overview

Kirinokura brewery is located at the base of the Kirishima Mountains in Miyakonojo city, a town with a lot of nature and food resources which is also famous for agricultural industry. During the Edo period, Satsuma Domain governed this area, so Satsuma culture is still deeply rooted here.

Known for “Kuro-kirishima”, a famous Shochu (a traditional Japanese distilled sprit) manufacturer, Kirishima Shuzo brews and retails its original beer, “Kirishima beer”. A sake maker who understands the tradition and techniques which have been carried on since the foundation, flew to the U.K., and acquired the beer production process from the basics.

Based on English ale, the Kirishima’s first beer master, who learned English authentic beer in the U.K., brews Miyakonojo-style beer.

They use the natural groundwater, “Kirishima Rekkasui”, for their beer as well as Kirishima’s signature Shochu. This groundwater creates smooth texture and clear taste of Kirishima beer.

The label design expresses Kirishima Mountains, the symbol of Kirishima Shuzo, and the blessing of nature including Kirishima Rekkasui.
